  The track was written by Zaire Koalo, Caroline Pennell, OAK, Sofia Carson, Trevorious and Justin Tranter.
  The song follows up “Fool's Gold”, which was released on March 26, 2021.
  Sofia Carson shared on social media, “I wrote this song two months ago and now it's yours. 'He Loves Me, But...' is the next chapter of my story. There's a piece of my heart in every word. And I hope it makes you smile and feel all the things that I felt while writing this. To anyone whose ever been told 'I love you, but...', this song is for you. I LOVE YOU (no 'but').”
