Colombian singer-songwriter VALÉ released her first single of 2021 entitled “so called friends” on February 19, 2021.
The song follows up “without you”, which was released last October.
The track was written by Heavy Mellow and Mark Johns, both songwriters have written her songs since 2019. The music video was directed by HOM Team.
VALÉ shared on social media, “so called friends has been one of my favorite songs ever since i made it in 2019 with Heavy Mellow and Mark Johns. it is a song made for those who need to realize what’s good for them, and what they need to have around them.”
The 17-year-old singer continued, “i wrote this song thinking about moments in which one comes to realize how those who are supposed to be your friends, are truly not. then comes the video we made for the song. first off, it was my first real music video production, not gonna lie, i was horribly nervous, but i happened to work with an incredible team that made me feel so comfortable and helped me capture the song’s essence in the best way possible.”- She added, “(Cody Hadden, Kanye Silas, Skylar Ray Rose) the video represents the journey someone would go through when acknowledging their own worth, and coming to terms with the fact that the people that might be around them simply bring their energy down. i love this song to death, and now its yours too. hope you love it.”
