Miley Cyrus Covers Billie Eilish's “my future” on BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge
- American singer-songwriter Miley Cyrus appeared on BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge to perform “my future”, “Midnight Sky” and “Slide Away”.
“my future” was released by Billie Eilish in July. The song is Billie Eilish's first single since the release of her acclaimed February 2020 James Bond theme song “No Time To Die”.
“Midnight Sky” is Miley Cyrus' latest song and was released on August 14th from her upcoming seventh studio album “She Is Miley Cyrus”.
The song sampled Stevie Nicks' 1998 hit “Edge of Seventeen”.
Miley Cyrus said, “I actually had this song blessed by Stevie Nicks because there is a kind of a nod to “Edge of Seventeen” in this song, so I actually reached out to her directly about [it] “this song it has your spirit, your magic”, I actually wrote this whole kind of message about “you know the kind of artist I want to be is the kind of artist that you've been for me” like “I just hope that I can be that for other people” and like when I've felt lonely Stevie Nicks has been there for me – whether she's known it or not – (…) so that felt [like it] was the coolest thing that ever happened to me.”
“Slide Away” was released in June 2019. She wrote the song with Finnish singer-songwriter Alma.
