Alfie Jukes Releases New Song “Sunburn”
British singer-songwriter Alfie Jukes released a new song “Sunburn” on September 20, 2024.
The song is the first music since his sophomore EP “Sitting Pretty”, which was released back in April.
He co-wrote the song with producer Will Bloomfield. Both worked together on “Not Quite Gone”, which is featured on his sophomore EP.
Also, London-based singer-songwriter Alfie Templeman joined in the song.
The music video premiered on October 10, 2024, directed by Ben Harris.
The track is an ode to summer that's playful and energetic.
Recently, Alfie Jukes has announced that his upcoming EP “All Dressed Up For Nothing” will be released on March 7, 2025.
The new song will appear on the EP.- Alfie Jukes said of the song, “I had the very first idea for this song in my bedroom, and I had a bassline which I was kind of just singing melodies over. I had the word 'sunburn' written down as well, so I think I was kind of working my way around that. It changed quite a bit when I took it into the studio, but [the original] melody actually went on to become the main chorus tune.”
He continued, “[In my session with Will Bloomfield], we just started throwing ideas around before we had any lyrics or melodies. Although, I did have this 'La, la-la, la-la' idea that I’d come up with on the train which we just recorded straight away and played on a loop in the room. Something we spent quite a bit of time on was the drums. We couldn’t really nail it, and we couldn’t immediately figure out what vibe we wanted to go for. But I was pretty obsessed with this song by Empire of the Sun called 'We Are The People'. So, we listened to it for inspiration and decided to go more in that direction.” -
