  • Goat Girl Releases New Song “words fell out”

  • London-based post-punk band Goat Girl, consisting of Lottie Pendlebury (vocals/guitar), Rosy Bones (drums) and Holly Mullineaux (bass), will release their upcoming third studio album “Below the Waste” this Friday (June 7).

The album comprises a 16-track, produced by Goat Girl and John 'Spud' Murphy.
From the album, the band release the tgird and final single called “words fell out” on June 5, 2024.
The track was written by Holly Mullineaux, Lottie Pendlebury, and Rosy Jones. Produced by Goat Girl and John 'Spud' Murphy.
The accompanying music video was directed by Molly Ann Pendlebury.

“The song is about the helplessness felt amongst our friends as we attempted to nurture Rosy, a time that felt really hard to find words for,” the band lead singer Lottie Pendlebury said of the song. “I wrote it to sort through the emotions that are pushed aside in the midst of dealing with a crisis. The opening line ‘I only want the best for you’ is the central theme, not only of the song but also our friendship.”
  • The band shared on social media, “This feels like a really special song to release as our final single before the album is out on 7th June. It explores the very real power of friendship that we share together as a band, and its importance in times of need. A few years back, our wonderful Roo’s struggles with addiction came to a head. We will always be eternally grateful for our community of friends and loved ones who came together to support Roo and us in getting them the help they needed.”

  • They continued, “The lyrics grapple with the feelings of helplessness and overwhelming anxiety that is an expected byproduct of this experience. It felt hard to approach, but also necessary in letting out all the emotions that, at the time, had been bottled up.”

They added, “This song, and talking about its meaning with each other, has been a really nice way to reflect and grow together in our support for one another. Big up Roo for the ongoing work of sobriety and also to anyone else who is going through similar experiences, we see you and are always here to chat. Everyone deserves the unconditional love that is felt in this song.”
