Australian singer-songwriter Guy Sebastian has joined forces with Australian pop rock singer-songwriter Sam Fischer for a new song “Antidote”.
This marks the first collaboration between Guy Sebastian and Sam Fischer.
For Guy Sebastian, the song is the follow-up to “Angels Brought Me Here, Again”, which was released last November.
While for Sam Fischer, the song is the first collaborative single after the release of the debut album “I Love You, Please Don't Hate Me”.
The track was written by Cyrus Villanueva, Guy Sebastian, Ned Houston, and Sam Fischer. Produced by Guy Sebastian, Cyrus Villanueva, and Michael Fatkin.
Guy Sebastian said of the song, “Every now and then a song comes out of a writing session that truly feels like it's from somewhere else. I've been wanting to work with Sam Fischer for a long time and while I knew we would create something special, nothing prepared me for Antidote.”- He continued, “In my Sydney studio, Sam, myself and my two talented mates Ned Housto and Cyrus Villanueva talked about how much music has been our place of refuge throughout all of the highs and lows. For us this song is an ode to music, but we wrote it so that everyone who listens to it will think about their own antidote. Sometimes it's a person, a thing, a pet, faith etc.. the antidote that always picks you up from the bottom.”
He added, “I've never worked for so long on a song - getting the production right was a mountain to climb. Despite this I still get the same chills as the first listen and I hope you guys love it as much as we do.” -
Sam Fischer said, “I'm honored doesn't even come close to how I feel right now. And if you think for one second I will have any chill at all about this, you are sorely mistaken. Guy Sebastian has soundtracked my life & to now be able to add my own name next to his on that tracklist will forever be a highlight of my life. Not to gas Guy Sebastian up too much but the man is a legend & someone I've looked up to for the last 20 YEARS. we wrote this song together not knowing how special it would become to both of us.
