Los Angeles-based alt-pop singer-songwriter Sadye released a new song “Pretty Traumatized” on February 9, 2023.
The song is inspired by her real life recovery story of battling cancer.
Lyrics are steeped in a sarcastic form of catharsis as she learns to love her literal, and figurative, scars.
It was written by Michael Green, Nico Stadi, and Stephanie Haderer. Produced by Mike Green and Nico Stadi.
Sadye said of the song, "Pretty Traumatized is my origin story. This song is at the root of my escapism approach to music. It's the first record I've written about everything I've been through medically and it helped me establish my superpower of creating these fantasies to save myself. It's horror masked with humor. It's the essence of me.”
She added, “The first time I heard this record back I spiraled thinking I wasn't honoring everything I'd been through in the right way.
