girli Releases New Song “Be With Me”
London-based singer-songwriter girli released a new song “Be With Me” on January 26, 2024.
The song is the third single off of her upcoming sophomore album “Matriarchy”, which is set to be released on May 17, 2024.
It was written by Dan Holloway, Jackie Apostel, and Milly Toomey. Produced by Dan Holloway.
“Be With Me” stands as a powerful anthem for self-love, contrasting her previous single “Nothing Hurts Like A Girl”, which delved into the heartache of a woman’s first lesbian relationship
girli said of the song, “'Be With Me' is about how being in a relationship with yourself is the best relationship ever because there's no strings attached, no jealousy, no lovers turned to enemies, no bad blood; the best chemistry and butterflies are with yourself when you learn to love you.”
Also, she shared on social media, “I wrote this song because I felt so tired of relationships and their complications, jealousy, heartache; and I realised that the only relationship that I could control was the one I have with myself. I'm my own wifey for life.”- The new album is her first album in five years since the 2019 debut album “Odd One Out” and comprises a 14-track.
In addition to “Be With Me”, she has released the album title track “Matriarchy” and “Nothing Hurts Like a Girl”, so far.
