  • Rod Stewart & Jools Holland Release Rework of Swing Classic “Ain't Misbehavin'”

  • British rock-pop singer-songwriter Rod Stewart and British pianist Jools Holland released a reworking of swing classic “Ain't Misbehavin'” on January 1, 2024.

Both artists performed the song at Jools Holland's Annual Hootenanny on New Year's Eve.
Rod Stewart shared on social media, “Happy New Year! Jools and I had a great time performing our new single 'Ain't Misbehavin'' at the Hootenanny last night, we're excited to announce the track is out now.”
The song will appear on their upcoming collaborative album “Swing Fever”, which is set to be released on February 23, 2024.
The first single “Almost Like Being in Love” was released from the album on December 5, 2023.
The original version of the song was written by Andy Razaf, Thomas 'Fats' Waller and Harry Brooks for the Broadway musical comedy play “Connie's Hot Chocolates” in 1929.
Jools Holland said of the song, “Fats is another example of somebody who delivers a popular song, and you can't quite work out what he's done. It's treated so lightly, but it's so clever.”
  • The new album comprises a 13-track, produced by Phil Manzanera.
Jools Holland said of the album, “The effect that this music has on me, and whenever I put it on where people are, they feel this thing, they want to move. Music is an expression of a lot of different things, and joy is an important part of what it does. You can feel the joy in this music, and it's unashamed joy as well.”
Rod Stewart added, “I'd already started making a swing album, but it didn't turn out how I wanted it. It was more Frank Sinatra than it was Louis Prima, let's say. So I cancelled that, and then I realised the guy I should go to is Jools. Also, our fanatical model railway enthusiasm bonded us together. So we started recording.”
