Donate to support families affected by the crisis in Ukraine ➔ Empress Of Premieres New Song “Kiss Me” featuring Rina Sawayama on BBC Radio 1
Honduran-American singer-songwriter Lorely Rodriguez, aka Empress Of premiered a new song “Kiss Me” on BBC Radio 1's Future Sounds with Clara Amfo.
This time, she teamed up with Japanese-British singer-songwriter Rina Sawayama on the track.
The song is her first music since the 2022 EP “Save Me”. As the single, the song follows up the collaborative song “Highway” with Lewis OfMan, which was released back in June.
The track was written by Lorely Rodriguez, Rina Sawayama, Kyle Shearer, Nate Campany, and BJ Burton. Produced by Valley Girl.
The accompanying music video was directed by India Harris.
Empress Of told Clara Amfo about the collaboration with Rina Sawayama, “I mean, she's iconic, and I'm such a huge fan of hers. We went on tour in Europe in February and I was working on the record. I was finishing the record. I sent her the song and I was so like, flattered and shocked when she was. I want to be on this song with you just as a massive fan.”- She continued to say how the song come, “You know, like, a crush. It's the curse of being a songwriter. You know, just it's, you know, someone's gonna be your inspiration.”
Sha added, “The ideas I had for marketing like kissing booths, you know all that. It's fun. It's a cute song.” -
