Dan + Shay Releases New Song “We Should Get Married”
American country pop music duo Dan + Shay, consisting of Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney, released a new song “Always Gonna Be” along with a music video on August 25, 2023.
The song is fifth single off of their upcoming fifth studio album “Bigger Houses”, which is set to be released on September 15, 2023.
The track was written by Shay Mooney, Dan Smyers and Andy Albert. Produced by Dan Smyers and Scott Hendricks.
The music video was directed by P. Tracy, who draws the duo as the wedding singer.
In the opening sequence of the music video, before their performance, Shay Mooney saying, “Everybody thinks we're just the ballad guys, the first dance guys, it's so frustrating.” Dan Smyers responds “We don't need a DJ to get the people out on the dance floor, we got songs for that.” Shay Mooney continued, “I think we should just go rogue and play the song.”
The new album comprises 12-track and is due out on September 15, 2023.- Dan Smyers said of the album, “'Bigger Houses' is a collection of some of our favorite songs we've ever written and recorded. Some things that I think fans will maybe pick up on, it's an intangible thing, is just how close Shay and I are. We're the closest we've ever been. I think that's something that you hear when you listen to this music.”
Shay Mooney said, “Making this album honestly felt a lot like making our very first record. But now we have a lot more experience, we have a lot more stories, and I feel like that shows.” -
Dan Smyers continued, “Wrote these songs from our hearts, on acoustic guitars, on pianos, with the people that we love. We're so fortunate in Nashville to get to work with the greatest songwriters in the entire world. We wrote with Jordan Raynolds, who we've had a lot of hits with. Ashley Gorley, Lori McKenna has a song on this album. Our buddy Andy Albert, who was there the night that Shay and I met. And it feels like classic Dan + Shay, but you know, with an evolution and we're really proud of the way this album turned out.”
Shay Mooney added, “It's really hard to pick a favorite song off the entire project. But right now, I would say 'Bigger Houses' is the song that I'm most proud of. That is the last song on the record. But we feel like it fully encapsulated what this album is about. Theme of money can't buy you happiness. And it truly is about what you spend you time on and who you spend your time with that really, really matters and brings you joy, and we're just super proud of it.”
