Jessica Mauboy Announces New Album “Yours Forever”, Shares New Song “Give You Love” featuring Jason Derulo
Australian R&B singer-songwriter Jessica Mauboy has announced her fifth studio album “Yours Forever” will be released on February 9, 2024.
The album comprises 14-track and is her first body of work in five years since the 2019 album “Hilda”.
“Yours Forever is me at my truest self, comfortable in my skin, not comparing myself or trying to be someone or something that anyone expects me to be,” Jessica Mauboy said of the album. “When you strip it all back, musically it's beautiful melodies, storytelling lyrics, rhythms that connect with the soul, and it has a depth that I've never gone to or shared before.”
She continued, “At the heart of the record, I wanted to share my experience of unpacking challenging times that we all come up against in life. For me, it was feelings of not being worthy, and coming to a place of knowing, a confirmation that I am enough.”
- From the album, she unveiled a new song “Give You Love” on August 11, 2023.
This time, she teamed up with American singer-songwriter Jason Derulo on the track.
The track was written by Blessing Offor, Shannon Busch, and Stephen Mowat. Produced by Rudy Sandapa, Styalz Fuego, and Styalz Fuego.
The accompanying music video was directed by Rowena Rasmussen and Joel Rasmussen.
Jessica Mauboy said of the song, “The collaboration came together quite magically, like beautiful, glistening, crystal-clear water flowing together. When we sent the song to WILSN and she heard my voice on the track for the first time, she burst into tears. Jason is such an incredible singer and he's got such a deep soul and spirit. He grew up singing in church and was classically trained, so I had no doubt he would sound amazing on this special song.”
She shared on social media, “It features my good friend Jason Derulo and wow I am so proud of this song! Jason, I can't thank you enough for lending me your INCREDIBLE talent. The man can SING!
This is the first song you're hearing from my new album (more on that shortly...) and I chose it to be the first as it captures the personal journey I've been on making this record.
Imma be real with you all, the last few years haven't always been easy. I know we can all relate to that! 'Glow', 'Automatic' and 'Right Here Right Now' were songs I wrote for me. They reminded me to believe in myself, to get back in the ring, and to find hope in the hardship we've faced. But this song, this is for YOU. I wanted to give you something earthshakingly eternal, uplifting, raising your hands to the sky and stomping your feet to the ground. Let me Give You Love.”
