Alice Merton Releases New Song “Charlie Brown”
German-Irish-Canadian singer-songwriter Alice Merton released a new song “Charlie Brown” on June 16, 2023.
The song is the second single since the 2022 album “S.I.D.E.S.”, following “Waste My Life”.
It was written by Alice Merton, Matt Wills, Chris Wood and William Farquarson. Produced by lice Merton, Matt Wills & Paul Whalley.
The accompanying music video was directed by Alice Merton herself.
She wrote the song with Matt Wills, Chris Wood and William Farquarson after North American and European Tour with British indie poppers Bastille last year.
Alice Merton said, “It was honestly one of the best times of my life, getting to tour with such a lovely group of people, and then creating music together.”
“Charlie Brown” is a wake-up call to get back into the driver's seat of your life. It's a hymn to keep going - no matter how big the obstacles may be. Stop settling for the apparent security of everyday life, but fight for what is important to you. Thus, the song's message is not only addressed to Charlie.
