  • Rachel Chinouriri Premieres New Song “Ribs” on BBC Radio 1

  • British singer-songwriter Rachel Chinouriri premiered a new song “Ribs” on BBC Radio 1's Future Sounds with Clara Amfo.

The song is the follow-up to “Maybe I'm Lonely”, which was released back in February.
The track was written by Glen Roberts, Oli Bayston, and Rachel Chinouriri. Produced by Apob.
Rachel Chinouriri explained about the song, “I wrote 'Ribs' when I had a chest infection and a crush on someone and it was annoying me. So I combined my two annoyances and described my liking of someone as a chest infection that was hurting my ribs because I actually had achy ribs. I then went to the pub and had some of the best ribs I've eaten from the Staplow Oak Inn and it was quite fun to make. So basically fancying someone is a sickness which you can either cure or it can make you worse - in my case I never recovered.”
  • The song will appear on her upcoming album. It is her first project in two years since the 2021 mini-album “Four° In Winter”.
She told Clara Amfo about the album, “It's coming along good. I think my first album, especially in the position I am in the indie music. I want it to be so heartfelt and lyrically justified with every song. So I'm taking a bit of time making sure each song, lyrically is at its best and making sure it's cohesive and truly about who I am as a person. So when anyone sees it, they'll be like, this is her, this is Rachel, this is where she grew up. This is an embodiment of why I am here now because how you grew up determines, how you are as a person and my music is really, an example of that.”
