Enter Shikari Drops New Music Video for “It Hurts”
British rock band Enter Shikari, consisting of Rou Reynolds (vocals), Chris Batten (bass), Rob Rolfe (drums) and Rory Clewlow (guitar), has dropped a new music video for “It Hurts” directed by the band frontman Rou Reynolds.
The song was released as the second single off of their upcoming seventh studio album “A Kiss For The Whole World” on February 9, 2023.
The track was written by Rou Reynolds, Chris Batten, Rob Rolfe and Rory Clewlow. Produced by Rou Reynolds.
Rou Reynolds said of the song, “It Hurts came to me in a dream. Literally. Melody, chords, and fully-formulated chorus were all part of a dream that, thankfully, remained with me when I woke up. I was hiding under the duvet at 3AM, singing it into my phone, much to the bewilderment of my girlfriend.”
He continued, “Lyrically, It Hurts is about perseverance, and the importance of reframing failure as a fruitful and, in fact, pivotal route to progress. Society teaches us we should avoid and criticise failure, when defeat and honest mistakes can actually present us with insights that light our way forward. In reality, we should be taught that simply to try makes us more than enough.”
The new album comprises 12-track and is set to be released on April 21, 2023.
It is their first album in three years since the 2020 album “Nothing Is True & Everything Is Possible”.
Rou Reynolds said of the album, “Back to basics. This band – my best friends – bundled into an old farmhouse, miles away from anywhere. Off-grid, and ready to rediscover ourselves. This album is powered by the sun, the most powerful object in our solar system. And I think you can tell. It’s a collection of songs that represent an explosive reconnection with what Enter Shikari is. The beginning of our second act.”
