British rapper Irving Ampofo Adjei, aka Headie One premiered a new song “Martin's Sofa” on BBC Radio 1's Future Sounds with Clara Amfo.
The song is a tribute to his old friend Martin, who helped and supported him during the difficult times before he became famous, often letting him stay on his couch.
He shared on social media that before Christmas, he gave a new sofa to Martin.
It was written by Headie One, and M1OnTheBeat, who also produced the track.
The accompanying music video was directed by Nathan James Tettey. The clip draws his drug dealing lifestyle of the past.
The song samples Flatbush Zombies' “Palm Trees” and Future's “Trap Niggas”.- Headie One told Clara Amfo about the song, “For us, it has been a long time coming, I actually released it a while ago. I feel like I'm digging a little deeper into my memory. About memory layer them and I'm just talking about things really the same hour is that's what I do. Anyway, what is my music, sort of like I'm gonna get a bit deeper into the story and tell a bit more.”
