Willie Peyote Drops New Live Video for “Sempre lo stesso film”
Italian rapper Willie Peyote dropped a new live video for “Sempre lo stesso film” on January 1, 2023.
The video was directed by Stefano Carena, who filmed in Langa.
The song is featured on the 2022 album “Pornostalgia”, which is his first album in three years.
It was written by Willie Peyote and Stefano Genta. Produced by Daniel Bestonzo, Kavah, Stefano Genta and Luca Romeo.
Willie Peyote told Rolling Stone about the song, “This is one of the hardest songs I've ever written. I wanted to close, yes, on a hopeful note. It's a letter I wrote to one particular person. The references to the "usual film" are not accidental: it is the last scene of Santa Maradona, in which the protagonists get up to go and change things and the film ends. This is how this record also ends, with a song written for Libero De Rienzo. Everything I wrote unfortunately I could not tell him in person.”
- Willie Peyote said about making of the song in an interview with Billboard, “The last piece is probably the truest I've ever written. The vocal take is the only one I recorded, at my house, right after I wrote it, and we kept that one because it's too true. Even for the unclear implications that are inside, very personal, it could not be done again. It was one of the few times in many years where I've struggled to write a song and finish it in a few hours, it was difficult. It came out after a long conversation with some guys and friends I was working on the record with. I was in crisis, something was missing, and I found the key. I tell things to a person I hadn't had time to tell them to and he brought out things I didn't expect. It will be hard to sing it live, I find it hard even to talk about it.”
