Donate to support families affected by the crisis in Ukraine ➔ beachtown Returns With New Song “Spin”
London based alt-pop duo beachtown, consisting of Zaine Masoliver and Fred Cowan, returned with a new song “Spin” on September 21, 2022.
The song is their first music since the 2021 debut EP “Homesick”. Also, it is the first single under their new label Young Poet.
The track was written by Zaine Masoliver, Fred Cowan, Ondrej Novotny and Rupert Lyddon.
Zaine Masoliver's vocal oozes through the speakers with subtle tones of sorrow, perfectly reflecting the sentiment of the song.
beachtown said of the song, “Spin came around a time where I was very frustrated with myself, people and things I couldn't control. Because of the angsty kind of mood that the song had I just went along with it. The name “Spin” also resonated with us as it describes that feeling of falling into vortexes in your own mind that never Stop spinning.”- beachtown was formed in 2019, during a chance meeting in the queue for a Rex Orange County gig in Kingston, South London when the search for a lost ticket turned into a conversation.
Zaine Masoliver and Fred Cowan immediately bonded over their shared love of music and only a few days later met up at a local youth centre's studio and wrote their first song together.
Two years on and beachtown are fast becoming one of the most exciting up-and-coming alternative acts in London. -
