carolesdaughter Releases New Song “sunshine and roses”
- Back in April, American alt-pop singer-songwriter Thea Taylor, aka carolesdaughter released her debut EP “please put me in a medically induced coma”.
After the release of the EP, she kept busy creating her music and released a new brand single called “sunshine and roses” on September 90, 2022, following “xo hope u die” released in June.
The track was written by Gabe Greenland and Thea Taylor. Produced by Gabe Greenland and Suzy Shinn.
“'Sunshine and roses' is a super honest and vulnerable song about a vice. Admitting defeat and admitting that you need help is one of the hardest things someone can do,” Thea Taylor said of the song. “With the vocal performance being very soft and beautiful, I see that represented in some of the video, as well as the darkness and hopelessness shown. The theme is something you can't give up [that] is destroying you.”
- The accompanying music video was directed by Anastasia Delmark.
Director Anastasia Delmark said of the video, “This project is our 3d with carolesdaughter. And I'm so happy to be able to experiment and try new visual languages every time I work with her. The story for this video was born from a desire to portray a life that had never begun. It's a restless wait for your destiny to unravel in front of you while skipping the now. The NOW turns into a sticky substance that swallows you up just for the sake of spitting you out for a rebirth.”
