Donate to support families affected by the crisis in Ukraine ➔ Ira Nor Releases New Song “Doomed”
Norwegian singer-songwriter Ira Nor released her second single called “Doomed” from her upcoming debut EP “Swim Ira” on August 4, 2022.
She wrote and recorded the song in a cabin with frequent collaborator and producer Øyvind Glåmen.
“It's about moving past a relationship that always was doomed; getting the power over yourself back, and letting go of an unhealthy relationship,” Ira Nor said of the song. “Pain can be beautiful if you use it in the right context. So I always try to do something beautiful with mine.”
She continued, “I'm really fascinated by technology, space and sci-fi; so hyperpop is really interesting to me – it's basically sci-fi in a genre. I'm also really inspired by Charli XCX and have been a huge Taylor Swift fan since I was a child… the fact that she's a singer, a songwriter and just the entire package? I wanted to be like that.”
