Of Monsters and Men Announces New EP “TÍU”, Shares New Song “This Happiness”
Icelandic alt-rock band Of Monsters and Men, consisting of Nanna Bryndís Hilmarsdóttir (vocals), Ragnar Þórhallsson (vocals), Brynjar Leifsson (lead guitars), Kristján Páll Kristjánsson (bass) and Arnar Rósenkranz Hilmarsson (drums), announced their upcoming EP “TÍU” would be released on June 10, 2022.
From the EP, the band released a new song “This Happiness” along with a music video.
The song is the first single after the release of two EPs “Ófreskja” and “Manneskja”, which were released earlier this month.
It was written by Nanna Bryndís Hilmarsdóttir and Ragnar Þórhallsson. Produced by Of Monsters and Men.
The accompanying video was directed by the band drummer Arnar Rósenkranz Hilmarsson.
The band shared on social media, “We are excited to share we have a new song called “This Happiness.” Our very own Arnar Rósenkranz Hilmarsson directed the video for it as well.”
- The new EP comprises 5-track. The band said, “TÍU in Icelandic means “ten” and the songs on this EP, both new and old, have been written over the last few years. We've been a band now for a decade and wanted to share these special songs with you that never made it onto an album and commemorate our time together.”
In addition the release of the EP, the band will premiere the short film “TÍU” directed by Dean DeBlois.
The film is official selection at the Tribeca film festival and will screen in NYC on June 9, 2022.
The band added, “Last year during the pandemic, we took a little trip around Iceland and spent some time together. We ate good food and did some fun things, including playing the songs on our upcoming TÍU EP in various places that mean something to us to commemorate our 10 years of being a band. No big venues, no audiences. Just the 5 of us and some friends and family including our dear friend Dean DeBlois, who filmed it all. This little trip turned into a short called “TÍU” that is now an official selection at the Tribeca film festival and will screen in NYC on June 9th!”
