Donate to support families affected by the crisis in Ukraine ➔ Hot Flash Heat Wave Releases New Song “Bay Boys”
San Francisco-based alt-pop trio Hot Flash Heat Wave, consisting of Adam Abildgaard, Nick Duffy, and Ted Davis, will release their upcoming third studio album “Sportswear” on March 11, 2022.
It is their first album in five years since the 2017 “Soaked”. The album comprises 11-track.
From the album, the band released the second single off called “Bay Boys” on February 11th, following “Where I'm @”.
It was written by Adam Abildgaard, Nick Duffy, and Ted Davis.
The band said of the song, “'Bay Boys' is a biker gang allegory, the story of a wandering character who's always seeking escape. The voice in the prechorus is like his conscience telling him he's unfulfilled, but he's idealized this life on the road and just keeps on running away. A particularly dark twist in a story I was reading left me in a heavy mood that inspired this song's sort of ironic and a bit tragic 80s romance narrative.”
The band is currently on the Sportswear World Tour in North America, the UK, and Europe through to September 2, 2022.
