Donate to support families affected by the crisis in Ukraine ➔ KAWALA Premieres New Song “Jesse C'mon” on BBC Radio 1
London-based alt-pop band KAWALA premiered a new song “Jesse C'mon” on BBC Radio 1's Future Sounds with Clara Amfo.
The song will appear on their upcoming debut album “Better With You”.
KAWALA said of the song, “When we first wrote the song, the thing that stood out about it was how it instinctively made you start bopping your head. And as we listened back to what we'd made, one of us would start bopping his head, and suddenly we were all doing it” the band explain. “We wanted to showcase how infectious this was through the main characters' consistent head motion throughout the video. Through the ingenious vision of NYSU, we were able to balance this with the constantly evolving chaos all around him. we wanted to make it hard to keep your eyes off it!”
The debut album is set to be released on March 4, 2022. The band said, “We've always been a little outsider-y. We don't fit the pop narrative; we don't quite fit the usual band narrative. We're really happy to be taking up that space, but I think this is our flag in the sand moment. The album really says: This is us, here we are!”- source : BBC Radio 1
