Donate to support families affected by the crisis in Ukraine ➔ Of Monsters and Men Releases New Song “Phantom” from 10th Anniversary Edition of “My Head Is An Animal”
Icelandic alt-rock band Of Monsters and Men released their 10th anniversary edition of the debut album “My Head Is An Animal” on October 29, 2021.
The album comprise of 14-track, including previously 12 songs and two unreleased songs.
Of Monsters and Men shared on social media, “This version of the album is how it originally came out 10 years ago in Iceland. We also included two bonus tracks “Phantom” and “Sugar In A Bowl” that we wrote a long time ago, but never officially released. We could not be more grateful to all of you who have supported us over the last 10 years. Thank you and we love you!”
From the album, the band dropped a new song “Phantom” along with music video directed by WeWereMonkeys.
It was written by Nanna Bryndís Hilmarsdóttir and Ragnar Þórhallsson. Produced by Of Monsters and Men.
The band member Nanna Bryndís Hilmarsdóttir said of the song, “I wrote “Phantom” when I was 16 years old in my childhood home in Garður. It was one of those songs that belonged to an era before the band but also these first few years that the band was forming and finding our sound. We never recorded it but it was always very important to our history and believe it was patiently waiting all these years.
