Donate to support families affected by the crisis in Ukraine ➔ The Mowgli's Premieres New Song “Wasting Time”
Last May, Los Angeles-based alt-pop band The Mowgli's member Colin Dieden left the band and started solo project.
The 5 remaining original members released a new song “Wasting Time” on January 2nd. It follows up “Fighting with Yourself”.
The song is accompanied by the music video, directed by Cortney Armitage and Ryan Newcomb.
“'Wasting Time' is a fun driving song about feeling stuck in a loop of the same old thing. We all want to do something meaningful, but sometimes it just feels hopeless,” guitarist Josh Hogan said. “Sometimes, even when we try over and over, it seems like we're getting nowhere. We want to hold ourselves accountable, but we don't always find a solution. If you can keep your head up and believe in yourself through these moments, you will come out the other side much stronger, and you'll feel gratitude towards those struggles.”- He continued, “I started the song while walking my dogs. The melody hit me in the face, so I recorded a voice note into my phone. When I took the song to the session, Scott [Chesak, friend of the band] started playing chords over my voice note, which was just me singing over nothing. It didn’t take long for us to get into the song, and she basically wrote herself.”
