OneRepublic Performs Latest Song “Rescue Me” on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon
- Last month, American rock band OneRepublic appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to perform their latest song “Rescue Me”.
The performance video was released on June 14th. But it was removed later, then the band re-released it on July 12th.
The song was released back in May. Frontman Ryan Tedder said of the song, “'Rescue Me' was written very quickly, 10 minutes or less almost a stream of consciousness. It was me telling Brent, our bass player and cellist, ‘I wanna write a song with a concept I had started a few years ago (called “Rescue Me”)’. He started playing this lonely sounding guitar riff and the first thing out of my mouth was the chorus as it is now.”
Ryan Tedder told Jimmy Fallon about iconic pop veteran acts U2 and Paul McCartney in an interview. “I was in New York at Electric Lady [Studios], I’m with the Edge, I’m with Bono…we have our laptops open, we’re combing through ideas, and we hear a knock-knock on the door,” said Ryan Tedder. "And Bono is like 'Who is it?' Lady opens the door, assistant, she goes, "Bobo, Have a phone call for you", He's like "Tell them. I'll call them back." Go back to writing, knock, knock, 30 seconds later. Opens the door, "Bono, you should really take the call." He's like "For..sake, who is it?" Turns around, "It's the Pope."” He continued, “Bono looks at me and he goes, ‘Duty calls.'”
