- alextbh Premieres New Music Video for “still mine”
- Malaysian singer-songwriter Alex Bong, aka alextbh has delivered a new song “still mine” via SoundCloud.
He dropped a new music video for the song directed by Jasper Tan on October 3rd. The video was premiered exclusively on Paper Magazine.
The song was written by alextbh himself. The sound is like '80s R&B and reminds us of Troye Sivan.
"The song chronicles what some might see as jealousy, but honestly, I can't do long-distance," alextbh told Paper Magazine. "The video is cool, odd angles, including a series of shots of me in the middle of this fucking pond, getting dirty wearing Gosha Rubchinskiy. It looks chaotic, but documents how I felt when making the song. I didn't have to pay for it. What's better?"
alextbh is openly gay, but his country Malaysian, its government has been outspokenly against the LGBTQ community. He is as an artist who boldly embodies his queer identity and is using his art to build acceptance and strength.
He said, "[Malaysia is] a really dangerous place. But it also serves as a message that us queer people should really stand up for what we fight for."
alextbh started writing when he was 13 with GarageBand. He recent uses Ableton and posted the songs to SoundCloud.
He released a debut EP "Alive" in 2016.
