Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Julia Ryan's new song “To The Top” was premiered exclusively on Billboard.
The song will appear on her forthcoming debut EP, which is expected to be released sometime this year.
The track is soulful sound and blends R&B, Jazz and Rock with especially her gorgeous vocals and wild guitar solo.
The song reminds us of 2008's Lesley Roy "Unbeautiful".
Julia Ryan said of the song in a statement;
"The song stands as an analogy of going back to the top of a song, to the beginning. The lyrics are meant to remind people of where they're from and to get in touch with what fills their soul, while bringing that back to their current reality."-
Julia Ryan has been deeply influenced by classic soul music like Etta James, Aretha Franklin, Billie Holiday and others.
She began to write the jazzy-rock track when she was a student at USC's Thornton School of Music. Since then, she has posted several songs including live sounds to SoundCloud.
