Keiynan Lonsdale Premieres New Song “Preach”
- Australian actor and singer-songwriter Keiynan Lonsdale dropped a new song “Preach” with an accompanying music video.
The song follows up "Kiss the Boy", which was released in March 2018. The track was written by Keiynan Lonsdale and produced by Louis Futon.
He plans to release a debut album including "Kiss the Boy" and “Preach”.
This year, he played as Leah Burke in American romantic teen film "Love, Simon" directed by Greg Berlanti. The film co-stars Nick Robinson, Josh Duhamel, and Jennifer Garner.
He told The Fader about the song;
“I wrote ‘Preach' over a year ago.. but I didn’t know what it actually meant, or its significance to my life, until several months later. Both the song and the video have become like my mirrors, so everything good & bad that comes with one's own reflection has of course presented itself through this project haha.
I want everyone to have their own interpretation of it for them, but for me it’s about fucking with your own soul, agreeing to be on the ride together no matter what, and discovering/remembering that magic is real if you believe it so.”
- Keiynan Lonsdale revealed that he doesn’t like to put a label on his music;
“I sort of don't even wanna label it, because I just wanna make music. I think ultimately when I'm creating it, I'm not thinking what genre it's in. I'm just going to make the music and go from there.”
