Donate to support families affected by the crisis in Ukraine ➔ Little Boots Premieres New Music Video for “Picture” featuring Lauren Flax
English electropop singer-songwriter Victoria Christina Hesketh, aka Little Boots has shared a new music video for “Picture”, directed by Marion Bergin. The video was premiered exclusively on Billboard.
The song features Lauren Flax, who is a member of the Brooklyn-based band CREEP. The track will appear on her upcoming 10th EP "Burn", which is out April 6th.
She said of the video, “The video for ‘Picture’ draws from the lyrics, about an image being able to instantly take you somewhere emotionally, even if it’s not a place you particularly wanted. I wanted to explore our relationship with technology and the powerlessness we can have over what it presents to us. It was amazing to continue working with amazing talented women, including Marion. For the first time in my experience of shooting videos, I think 80 percent of our crew on set were female!”- The EP "Burn" comprises of 4-track, where she collaborated with female artists including Joyce Muniz and Lauren Flax. Currently, she based in Los Angeles as DJ, and the EP is inspired from EDM.
She stated about the EP;
“Creating a project focused on female talent is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time, and the process was incredibly inspiring. The producers involved hail from more underground backgrounds sonically and have very different approaches, but what tied everything together was their open mindedness and embrace of pop hooks and melodies. Since relocating to Los Angeles I’ve been DJing a lot and the shift in sound very much reflects this. In many ways this EP really feels like a rebirth for me. Conceptually, I’ve been interested in the themes of desire, lust and lack, so the title “Burn” can be interpreted in many ways, from the burn of desire, to the burn of pain; you cannot have one without the other.” - source : Billboard
