Pale Waves Announces New Album “Smitten”, Premieres New Song “Perfume” on BBC Radio 1
British alt-rock band Pale Waves, consisting of Heather Baron-Gracie (vocals/rhythm guitar), Ciara Doran (drums), Hugo Silvani (guitar) and Charlie Wood (bass), has announced that their fourth studio album “Smitten” will be released on September 20, 2024.
The album is their first LP in two years sine the 2022 album “Unwanted” and comprises a 12-track.
“I found myself writing about not just a certain time period but my whole life, from years ago,” the band lead singer Heather Baron-Gracie said of the album. “When I fall in love, I fall deep, and it's interesting to me that you can feel so fascinated and smitten with someone, and then they can become a total stranger. So, I feel like Smitten really summarized perfectly what I felt for others at a certain point.”- From the album, the band premiered the first single called “Perfume” on BBC Radio 1's New Music Show with Jack Saunders.
The track was written by Heather Baron-Gracie, and Simon Oscroft. Produced by Simon Oscroft and Iain Berryman.
Heather Baron-Gracie said of the song, “'Perfume' is the perfect introduction into the new world we've created. It's queer, feminine and romantic and it encapsulates the essence of 'Smitten.'” -
She told Jack Saunders about the album, “It's kind of a collection of various experiences that I've had with women in my life. Usually when I write a plan always over my right from my present tense, so I felt like I was going back years ago in my life. I had really dived into those feelings. that I had, you know, when I was like 17, or 20, and growing up with my sexuality and experiencing so many new things for the first time, so it was kind of like healing in a way.”
