ANKOR Releases New Song “Prisoner”
Catalonia-based alt-metal band ANKOR, consisting of Jessie Williams (vocals), Eleni Nota (drums), David Romeu (guitar), Fito Martinez (guitar) and Julio López (bass), released a new song “Prisoner” on December 16, 2022.
The song is the first single off of their upcoming album, which is expected to be released in spring 2023.
The track was written by David Romeu and Jessie Williams. Produced by David Romeu and co-produced by Jessie Williams, Fito Martínez, Julio López, Eleni Nota, Isra Dante Ramos and Christoph Wieczorek.
The accompanying music video was directed by David Romeu.
The band plans to release one new song with a new music video each month until the release of the album.
ANKOR shared on social media, “After 4 years of our last album 'White Dragon', we're extremely happy to announce that we'll release the 1st single of our new album, that will be published in spring 2023. Until then, we'll publish one new song with a new music video each month, so stay tuned because we've put our entire souls onto this.”
- The band said of the song, “We wanted to go one step further and a remarkable evolution to our sound and style. After these years without publishing new material and being a band that has always been characterized by mixing styles without holding back or labels, it was a difficult challenge. There is a large offer and it is very difficult to stand out among so much quality, both national and international, but we believe that this is our best work. We want to show and compress everything that we have in this next album, personal experiences, memories, dreams, defeats... And we believe that this first single, 'Prisoner', is a good introduction to everything that will come in the next songs and in the disk.”
