Florence + The Machine Announces New Album “Dance Fever”, Shares New Song “My Love”
British alt-rock band Florence + The Machine announced their fifth studio album “Dance Fever” would be released on May 13, 2022 via Polydor Records.
It is their first album in four years since the 2018 album “High as Hope”.
Florence Welch worked with American singer-songwriter Jack Antonoff on the album. The band started recording in Mach 2020 in New York, but were forced to retreat to London due to the coronavirus pandemic.
From the album, they released the third single called “My Love” along with a music video on March 10, 2022, following “King” and “Heaven Is Here”.
It was written and produced by by Florence Welch and Dave Bayley.
The accompanying music video was directed by Autumn de Wilde, who also created the two previous videos of the album.
The song was recorded in London over the course of the pandemic. According to a press release, the record is inspired by “what Florence missed most in the midst of lockdown – clubs, dancing at festivals, being in the whirl of movement and togetherness – and the hope of reunions to come”.
“My Love” was originally written as “sad little poem” with acoustic sound, but the band used synths for the song after Dave Bayley of Glass Animals suggested.- Photo by Autumn de Wilde
