- Levy & The Oaks Releases New EP “Sound of the City”
- Asbury Park-based pop-rock band Levy & The Oaks released a long-awaited new EP “Sound of the City” on August 3, 2018.
It is their first EP since 2017s unplugged EP "Out of the Blue".
The EP comprises of 6-track, written by Levy & The Oaks, and produced by Christian Medice, Joe Pomarico and Andrea Morgan.
When you listen to the first track “Mirror Mirror”, which was released as the second single, you will fall in love with the EP. The song is radio friendly pop and produced by Christian Medice.
The second track “Obsessive Love” was released as the first single along with a music video, directed by Linda Pluhar. Christian Medice produced it.
The third track "Rings" and the fifth track "Another Night Out In Asbury", both songs are funky and power-pop, produced by Joe Pomarico.
The fourth track "Happiness is Easy" is the only track produced by Andrea Morgan.
The title tune "Sound of the City" is a beautiful ballad based on piano like British singer-songwriter Tom Odell. Produced by Christian Medice.
Lead singer Levy Okun said of the EP;
“The howl of a warm breeze, a boat’s horn in the distance, and the calming of waves crashing onto the shoreline. Although relaxing on the surface, these sounds represent my own personal restlessness at a time of my life where fleeing is unnervingly peaceful. Sound of the City is about leaving your comfort zone. It’s about walking into the unknown. You must leave behind what you cannot take with you.”
- Levy & The Oaks consists of Levy Okun (lead vocals, guitar, piano), Lou Panico (vocals, bass, percussion) and Chris Colon (lead guitar, lap steel, vocals).
The trio released self-titled debut album in 2016.
The band will appear on Makin Waves Summer Concert Series at AP Brewery in New Jersey on August 11. The festival features Cranston Dean Band, The Burns, The Paper Jets and Tara Dente.
On September 14th, the trio performed at Stosh's in New Jersey along with Kate Dressed Up.
