British singer-songwriters Maisie Peters and James Bay teamed up to release a new song “Funeral” from Apple TV+ original series “Trying: Season 2” soundtrack.
The track was written by Joe Rubel, James Bay and Maisie Peters. Produced by Joe Rubel.
Maisie Peters said, “Being asked to make a whole soundtrack was a huge challenge as I'd never done anything like that before, but it was super interesting to me, so, I said 'yes.' Having spoken with Jim [O'Hanlon] and reading all the scripts, I started piecing it together with Joe [Rubel] and we wrote the bulk of it in two months last winter over FaceTime. Building the universe was so fun, and it was really special getting to collaborate with James, Griff, and Bear's Den, as I've been big fans of them most of my life.”
The soundtrack is set to be released on May 21, 2021. Also, Maisie Peters and James Bay will appear on The Late Late Show with James Corden on May 10th.- 2BQ4mPrupr0
Maisie Peters shared on social media, “i started it at 1am in my silly little girls house bedroom and i immediately knew that i wanted james and only james to do it with me. i've been a fan of his since i was 15 and went to see him play brighton dome and i didn't know if he'd agree but i wrote him a very earnest three paragraph email where i basically pitched him the song with bullet points and everything and luckily for me he agreed. and then we got into the studio and finished it together and also became really great friends so what a perfect ending. this song is the first one you'll hear from the soundtrack and i'm so happy ur getting ur first look thru the door, i hope u love it like we do.”-
James Bay said, “Life suddenly getting busy again. Lots of excitement on the horizon! First up tho, earlier in the year superstar Maisie Peters gave me a call to tell me that she's not only finishing up her debut album but *also* finishing up another one 🤭 She asked if I'd be up for collaborating on a totally magic song called Funeral.
