Circa Waves Announces New Album “Death & Love, Pt. 1”, Shares New Song “We Made It”
Liverpool-based alt-rock band Circa Waves, consisting of Kieran Shudall (vocals/guitar), Sam Rourke (bass), Colin Jones (drums) and Joe Falconer (lead guitar), has announced their sixth studio album “Death & Love, Pt. 1” will be released on January 31, 2024.
The album comprises 9 songs, following the band frontman Kieran Shudall's near-death experience, produced by Kieran Shudall himself.
Kieran Shudall underwent surgery for a severely blocked heart artery earlier 2023.
Kieran Shudall said of the album, “I needed this record to process what I went through. A letter to tell myself I would stick around. Most of all, I wanted to make a record for me, with music I love and hopefully music to make kids in their bedroom pick up a guitar and believe they can take on the fucking world.”- From the album, the band released the first single called “We Made It” on September 30, 2024.
The track was written and produced by Kieran Shudall.
The accompanying music video was directed Daniel Pattman and Polocho.
Kieran Shudall told NME about the song, “The first single ‘We Made It’, is a song about resilience, and about the fortitude of people. Our ability to bring good things out of bad situations.” -
He continued, “The chorus lyric says, ‘Every silver lining is a gold mine’. Having such a mad thing happen to me in my life has made me appreciate everything else so much more and a lot of the record mirrors that sentiment.”
He added, “Hopefully. I hope people sing the chorus and it means whatever it means to them. The lyric of ‘we made it’ can be so many fucking things for different people, and that’s what I wanted it to be. I wanted it to be a fist in the air, universal anthem for people.”
