Låpsley Announces New Album “Cautionary Tales Of Youth”, Premieres New Song “Dial Two Seven” on BBC Radio 1
- British singer-songwriter Låpsley announced her third studio album “Cautionary Tales Of Youth” would be released on January 20, 2023.
It is her first album in three years since the 2020 album “Through Water”.
Låpsley said of the album, “I can finally announce that my third studio album, Cautionary Tales Of Youth, will be released on 20th January 2023. It's been just over 2 years in the making and I can honestly say it's my best work yet. I'm ridiculously proud of this project and it's testament to the team that helped make this possible. Over the next few months I'll guide you through the various tales of the record. I've never felt more like my true authentic self within my artistry.”
From the album, she premiered a new song “Dial Two Seven” along with a music video on BBC Radio 1's Future Sounds with Clara Amfo.
The track was written by Holly Lapsley Fletcher, Greg Abrahams, and Omri Dahan. The accompanying video was directed by Kyla Philander.
She said of the song, “It's about the experience of friendship, love, hedonism, partying and connection between myself and the friends I have made out there. Since my first trip to South Africa in 2020 I have gone back multiple times; cultivating so many beautiful relationships within the creative communities of Cape Town and Johannesburg, to the point now where I can't imagine my life without it. This song is a celebration of that. The impact of diving head first into another country's music scene and collaborating is something I'm eager for you to hear within the subsequent releases across the year.”
