Quebec-based R&B singer-songwriter Myles Lloyd released a new song “Counting Days” on July 21, 2021.
The song follows up “Monster”, which was released back in June.
It was written by Myles Lloyd, Chris Valenzuela, Myles Lloyd and Dream Addix.
Myles Lloyd said of the song, “'Counting Days' is one of the realest songs I've ever made. Especially during this pandemic time, I feel like everyone is counting the days until the world goes back to normal. I feel like a lot of people could relate to this song in different ways. Feeling indecisive, alone and tempted is all very normal but having self control is a must. Feeling vulnerable can really make you do some dumb stuff. Being away from home and seeing so many new things can be distracting. Especially as a homebody. Stepping out of your comfort zone can really open your eyes to new ways of living, but can also introduce you to your inner demons.”- The track will appear on his upcoming sophomore album, which is expected to be released late this year.
“I made (the album) while I was in L.A.,” he told COMPLEX. “Three or four songs were recorded there and the rest were recorded in Canada, so it’s a mixture of cold and hot. Some songs have a hotter feel, but I’m always missing the cold. You can tell in the songs—I’m immersed in what’s around me, but I’m reflecting home. During this pandemic I learned how to self-record and that’s the best thing I’ve ever done. I finished the entire project that way.
