Ghetto Kumbé Announces Self-Titled Debut Album, Premieres New Music Video for “Vamo a Dale Duro”
- Afro-Colombian band Ghetto Kumbé announced their self-titled debut album will be released May 22nd via ZZK Records.
From the album, the band dropped the first single off called “Vamo a Dale Duro” with accounting music video directed by Guillermo Camacho.
The album comprises of 11-track, featuring guest appearances from Melanie and Kombilesa Mi, produced by Oliver Williams aka The Busy Twist.
The LP is visceral, committed, and rebellious, denouncing through frantic rhythms the inequalities and abuses imposed by corrupt governments, while simultaneously enticing listeners to join in the fight.
“We’re going throught some harsh times right now, the country is completely upside down and everyone keeps feeling increasingly powerless. “Vamo A Dale Duro” is a shout of resistance, a breath of encouragement for the people,” the band member Edgardo Garcés said of the song. “We always try to highlight what’s real, what our people is actually going through. That’s why we are always on real locations, where people are legit, always highlighting the situation of our country, not like what you see over there in the media with those music videos where everything looks nice, where everything is beauty and luxury. The truth is totally different and we have to highlight it, people have to know that there are many people here fighting for a change through good deeds, the arts, the music and, most importantly, with their hearts!”
Ghetto Kumbé consits of Edgardo Garcés (aka E Guajiro), Juan Carlos Puello (aka El Chongo) and Andrés Mercado.
