Cheat Codes Returns With New Song “Location” featuring A7S
Los Angeles-based DJ trio Cheat Codes, consisting of Kevin Ford, Trevor Dahl and Matthew Russell, returned with a new song “Location” on October 6, 2023 via Armada Music.
This time, the trio teamed up with Swedish DJ A7S on the track.
The song is their first music since the fourth studio album “One Night in Nashville”, which was released back in January.
On the new track, the trio retuned to their dance music roots.
The trio said, “Dance music can transcend anywhere, at any time, no matter who the collaborating artist may be.”
they continued, “We're thrilled to be back after our longest break ever from music. Thank you to our fans, old and new, for sticking by us as we embark on this new artistic journey. We hope the record has you dancing all night long.”- The track samples the car lock beep. They saw an elderly woman in an old 1990s Honda Civic exit her car and lock her door during a break between production sessions in a grocery store parking. Then the beep of the door locking echoed across the parking lot.
They are inspired by the car lock beep and returned to the studio to crafted the new song including the car lock beep.
