Common Kings Releases New Song “Hideaway”
Orange County-based reggae band Common Kings, consisting of Sasualei Maliga (vocals), Taumata Grey (guitar), Ivan Kirimaua (bass) and Jerome Taito (drums), released the second single called “Hideaway” from their upcoming sophomore album “CELEBRATIO” on July 14, 2023.
The track was written by Sasualei Jr Maliga, Taumata Jerome Grey, Samuel Hone Taylor Johnson, Keith Ernesto Harris, Donvan Bennett, Lui Ivan Kirimaua, Jerome Kaisa Taito, and Celeste Williams.
The song features lead singer JR King (Sasualei Maliga)’s signature silky smooth falsetto vocals.
“He’s a master impersonator,” the band guitarist Mata (Taumata Grey) said. “He can sing like anyone from Luther Vandross and Prince to Axl Rose and Mick Jagger.”- The new album is set to be released on August 25, 2023 via Island Empire/Mensch House Records.
The album comprises 12-track. R King said of the album, “Our take on reggae is more feel-good, fun and loving, relaxed in that Hawaiian way. We’re not a political band.”
He continued, “It’s a culmination of our careers, jamming 20 years, raising families, living life and making music, all of it coming together and being able to share that with the world.” - source : Apple Music
