Ana Moura Drops New Music Video for “Nossa Senhora Das Dores”
Portuguese singer-songwriter Ana Moura has dropped a new music video for “Nossa Senhora Das Dores” directed by Gonçalo Afonso.
The video was filmed in the Monserrate Palace near Sintra in Portugal.
The song is featured on her seventh studio album “Casa Guilhermina”, which was released last November.
The track was recorded as a tribute to the Godmother of Fado, Maria da Fé.
It was written by José Luis Gordo, and Carlos Macedo. Produced by Pedro da Linha and João Bessa.
Named after Ana Moura's Grandmother, “Casa Guilhermina” marks a departure for the singer, both musically and personally, informed in part by Moura wanting to acknowledge and celebrate her own bi-racial heritage, self-writing for the first time and collaborating with contemporary Portuguese producers.
Ana Moura said of the album, “This album has all these different aspects that are part of my life. I thought that it was the best name to describe that because my grandmother gave me that heritage. She was Angolan but her father was Portuguese. She sang fado, she danced to Angolan music, and she made me the woman that I am today.”
