Sigala x James Arthur Drop New Music Video for “Lasting Lover”
British DJ Sigala teamed up with singer-songwriter James Arthur to release a new song “Lasting Lover”.
The song was written by Scottish singer-songwriter Lewis Capaldi.
“It came to me as a ballad, with just guitar and his (Lewis Capaldi) voice on it, I worked on it a bit and I got in touch with James from there, to see if he wanted to sing it. It's about rekindling love with a past loved one, bringing them back into your life and realising that it was meant to be.”
Sigala and James Arthur created the track with Zoom. “It has been a very fun journey to take it to where it is now. I have wanted to work with James Arthur for ages, as I love his voice, but because the song came together during lockdown, I wasn't actually able to meet James in person, so we worked across Zoom for a long time and finally met on the set for the music video - luckily we got on just as well in real life!” he said. “You may also be able to tell, I am a massive MGMT fan, so it's been really cool to be able to blend everything together, and I hope everyone enjoys the result.”
James Arthur said, “I knew that my friend that I've been writing some of my album with, Corey Sanders, was involved in it, but I didn't know that actually Lewis had written on the song. I got the song from Sigala and the vocal on it was kind of a similar vibe to me. It didn't sound like Lewis. He must've done that vocal years ago. It sounded a bit like me, to be honest. And then I was like, 'Yeah, this suits me.'”- wNMZRTROYuw
