Kelsea Ballerini & Halsey Release New Remix “the other girl”
American country singer-songwriter Kelsea Ballerini and pop singer-songwriter Halsey performed “the other girl” at CMT Crossroads last October.
The song is included on Kelsea Ballerini's third studio album “kelsea”, which was released back in March.
“We are [friends],” Kelsea Ballerini told Kix. “I’ve always wanted to do a CMT Crossroads—I love collaborating—but I always wanted to do it with someone that I was comfortable with. You’re doing nine songs with that person, so it’s like you really want to be able to connect to their music and just them as a person, and so Halsey and I have been friends for a couple of years now and, it made perfect sense to kick it off with Crossroads.”
On April 20th, the pair released the new remix of the song as the second single from the album.
“There's so much music - and I'm partially responsible for this - but there's so much music in the world about cheating partners. People wanna pin it on the other girl, and make it the other girl's fault,” Halsey said to The Boot. “So it was so cool for us to be coming together and being like, 'You know what? Forget him. We're not gonna hate each other.”
“To be clear, this is a fictional event,” she added. “But just us representing those two sides of women in the equation, being like, 'No, we're not gonna let misogyny turn us against each other, instead we're empowered.'“- source : Nash Country Daily
