Sting & Shaggy Premiere New Song “Don’t Make Me Wait”
English singer-songwriter Sting and Jamaican-American DJ Shaggy teamed up for a new song "Don’t Make Me Wait". The song is the first single off of their upcoming collaboration album "44/876", which is set to be released on April 20, 2018.
The duo have already filmed a music video for it, during traveling around the Jamaican capital.
Shaggy recorded and made a session at L.A.’s The Village studio last summer, then Sting’s manager Kierszenbaum sent this song to Sting. He was immediately struck by the song.
About the new song, Sting said;
"The most important thing to me in any kind of music is surprise. And everybody is surprised by this collaboration – by what they're hearing. We're surprising. I sang on the chorus, and then we tried to figure out a way to make it more of me than just a chorus, so we got a verse together."
Shaggy continued to say;
"Yeah, I really liked the first one, because it says where I'm from. I was trying to figure out how to work that in, something about Jamaica, but it's better if you say it. I've always had an affinity for the island. I recognized that it has a magic you just can't explain."-
