ROSALÍA Releases New Song “TUYA”
Spanish singer-songwriter ROSALÍA released a new song “TUYA” along with a music video on June 9, 2023.
The song is the follow-up to the collaborative “EP RR” with Puerto Rican singer-songwriter Rauw Alejandro.
It was written by Rosalía Vila Tobella, Carlos E Ortiz Rivera, Juan G. Rivera Vazquez, Noah Goldstein, Dylan Wiggins, and David Rodríguez.
Produced by Noah Goldstein, David Rodríguez, Chris Jedi, and Gaby Music.
ROSALÍA said of the song in a press statement, “Exploring is part of who I am as a musician, and, in the case of ‘Tuya,’ inspirations such as reggaeton, Japanese instruments, flamenco, and gabber techno coexist at the same level.”
The accompanying music video was directed by STILLZ, who filmed in Tokyo, Japan.
She told VOGUE about the video, “The video [is centered around] a foreign girl in Tokyo who is alone all the time. I found that juxtaposition interesting for the visual part. I was having fun creating looks in Tokyo the day before the shoot. The looks represent the playfulness from that moment, and also are part of the visual context of Tuya, where sensuality plays an important role.”- Photo by Courtesy of Columbia Records
