Sam Smith Premieres New Theme Song “Fire On Fire” for Watership Down
British singer-songwriter Sam Smith has shared a stirring new ballad “Fire on Fire”, which is the theme song to a new adaptation of Richard Adams' "Watership Down".
He recorded the song at London’s Abbey Road Studios with the BBC Concert Orchestra in September 2018. Co-wrote and produced by Steve Mac.
“I am so excited and honored to be a part of this new adaptation of Watership Down,” Sam Smith said in a statement. “This story is so powerful and timeless, and it has been thrilling to work with director Noam Murro and his team and the incredible Steve Mac on this song for it. "Watership Down" is a survival and adventure novel by English author Richard Adams, published by Rex Collings Ltd of London in 1972.
The story is a brutal tale of the small group of rabbits living in the town of Watership Down in Hampshire, England.
The new adaptation of "Watership Down" was directed by Noam Murro, starring James McAvoy, Ben Kingsley, Olivia Colman, John Boyega, Nicholas Hoult, Gemma Arterton, Daniel Kaluuya and others.
