Laura Mvula Premieres New Song “Got Me” on BBC Radio 1
British singer-songwriter Laura Mvula premiered a new song “Got Me” on BBC Radio 1's Future Sounds with Annie Mac on May 12, 2021.
The song is the third single off of her upcoming third studio album “Pink Noise”, following “Safe Passage” and “Church Girl”.
It was co-written and co-produced by Laura Mvula and Dann Hume.
The new album is set to be released on July 2, 2021. It is her first album in five years.
Laura Mvula told Bustle, “Every time someone says, 'it's been five years', I'm always a bit shocked, because so much has happened. Right now, it feels amazing to be on the other side of having worked so hard for so long.”
“This is the album I always wanted to make,” she said of the album on a press release. “Every corner is made warm with sunset tones of the '80s. I absorbed the dynamism of the '80s aesthetic right from my first moments on this planet. Making Pink Noise felt like the most violent of emotional wrestling matches. It took three years of waiting and waiting and fighting and dying and nothingness and then finally an explosion of sound.”- CJohzGzstag
