Stephen Puth Premieres Debut Song “Sexual Vibe”
Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Stephen Puth has unveiled a debut song “Sexual Vibe” with accompanying music video, directed by Ally Pankiw.
The track has a ’50s or ’60s vibe and organic sound. Stephen Puth wrote the song with using voice note along with his friend songwriter Brian Lee.
He told Idolator about how the song came in an interview, “It was like two in the morning, a club closes and my friend [songwriter Brian Lee] suggested we go to his studio. So we walk there and it was just this voice note. He was on the guitar and we were just messing around, showing each other music. Then the roughest version of the song came out. It was just yelling, the mic was all messed up.”
This year, he signed to Arista Records and the song will appear on his upcoming debut EP, which is expected to be released in 2019.
He said of the song, “It’s about that moment when you see someone across the room, and how you feel before anything even happens. It’s about the build up and seeing where it goes. When I’m writing, I’m interested in how something started, how it ended, and everything in between.”
He continued, “Most people’s lives consist of waking up, commuting, being at work, commuting, going to the gym, eating dinner, and falling asleep. In between, there’s music. I hope my songs give people whatever they need to get through their day.”- source : Idolator
