Katy Perry Performs “Swish Swish” and “Bon Appetit” on Saturday Night Live
American singer-songwriter Katy Perry appeared on Saturday Night Live season 42 finale, where she performed her latest songs "Swish Swish" and “Bon Appetit” with American hip hop group Migos. This time, the host isAmerican actor Dwayne Johnson.
This marks the third time Perry has been the musical guest on SNL. Her first time performance on SNL was 7 years ago when Amy Poehler was the host. In 2013, she returned to play on TV program hosted by Bruce Willis.
"Swish Swish" was released on on May 19, featuring American rapper Nicki Minaj. Katy Perry played its first time performance on TV, but this time, Nicki Minaj didn't appear on SNL.
On Friday, she explained about the new song on Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, "I think it's a great anthem for people whenever someone's trying to hold you down or bully you. That's kinda what this record is about. It's just like 360-degree liberation. 'Chained to the Rhythm' was this political liberation. 'Bon Appetit' was this sexual liberation. And now this, 'Swish Swish,' represents the liberation from all the negative that doesn't serve you."
“Bon Appetit” was released on April 28, its music video was premiered on on May 12.
Both songs includes on her upcoming fifth studio album "Witness", which is due out on June 9th.
After Saturday Night Live, she will perform at 95-106 Capital FM on May 25, followed by at BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend on May 27 in London.
Also, Katy Perry will kick off "Witness: The Tour" to promote the new album in North America on September 7 and will perform through February.- QWJ-gJu0yzQ
